A name for Getty’s family and twelve newborn gorillas

On June 22, the annual Kwi­ta Izina ceremony will take place in Musanze, or­ganized by the Rwanda Develop­ment Board’s department of tour­ism and conservation. This ninth edition will see the naming of 12 baby gorillas aged between two weeks and eleven months old – the oldest was born on July 3 last year and the youngest on May 21 this year. In addition, a newly formed group headed by a male called Getty will also get a name.
