Didier Kavumbagu has signed a two-year deal with five-time Cecafa champions Yanga.

Last month, the Atlético Olympique forward was widely linked with a move to Primus League side Police but has since joined the Tanzanian giants.

Kavumbagu was one of the outstanding players in the just ended Cecafa Kagame Cup in Dar es Salaam.

Ironically, his two goals were against Yanga.

He now joins a formidable Yanga frontline of Said Bahanuzi, Hamis Kiiza and Jerryson Tegete.

Yanga coach Tom Saintfiet believes Kavumbagu’s arrival is a great addition to his side as they continue to prepare for the new season.

“His arrival gives us several options upfront,” Saintfiet said. “He is very aggressive which is what you want from your striker-keeping defenders on their toes.”
