Etincelles to name new coach
Etincelles chairman Christian Dukuze yesterday revealed that the Primus National League club would name a new coach on Monday.
The position has been vacant since April when Hamiss Sogonya was sacked following the club’s poor performance last season.
Besides a cameo appearance in the Caf Confederation Cup where the team was knocked out at the preliminary stage, the Western Province side struggled to match their 2010-2011 season were they finished second in the league.
Last season, they finished 7th which according to Dukuze is unacceptable.
“The process is moving along very well. We would like to have a new coach in place early next week,” Dukuze told Focus Sport.
“We are in good shape. There is not too much meddling with the team to be done.”
“Our target is very much to be back competing. Last season was a difficult year of course,” he said. “However that’s history now. We will move on. We expect to be competing for all the major trophies next season.”
When asked who were in the running for the job, Dukuze remained tight-lipped on the subject.
