Inyange Industries on Friday received the ISO 22000:2005 certification from the International Organization of Standards after a visit to their plant by UKAS accreditation general manager – business development Kenneth Maundu.

ISO 22000:2005 is an internationally recognized certification that guarantees minimal health risks and ensures food safety as well as demonstrating food chain sustainability.

“Inyange Industries has reinforced its commitment to complying with global food safety standards by implementing the ISO 22000:2005 Certification as concerns about food quality and safety continue to rise across the nation,” said Inyange Industries managing director Senganda Sudadi Kayitana.

He added that the globally recognized certificate will give consumers confidence and trust in Inyange’s products.

Inyange Industries started the process to obtain this certification in 2010 and had to undergo a long series of internal and external audits to ensure that strict safety standards are consistently upheld.

The company already exports its products to Burundi, DRC, Uganda and some parts on Tanzania.
