Mark Mugarura, the Skol marketing manager, said the promotion – the first since the beer was launched – will last three months, from February 24 to June 22. He added that the aim of the promotion is not only to attract more customers but also to thank the current ones.

“At Skol, we don’t sell alcohol, we sell friendship and connecting people,” Mugarura said. “With the promotion, we are not only giving back to our customers but also connecting people the world over through the fourth biggest beer brand in the world.”

The promotion gives Skol drinkers a chance to win a range of prizes which include beers, t-shirts and caps, mobile phones, lap tops and TV sets. The grand price for one lucky winner is a Mitsubishi Lancer car.

“We value transparency so the winner of the grand prize will be announced during a draw witnessed by all at the end of the promotion,” Mugarura explained.

In order to participate, it is enough to buy a Skol beer and check inside the cap where it is announced if, and what, you have won.

“For bigger prizes like TV or lap tops, all our winners have to do is register their details on a piece of paper, undersigned by the name of the bar and the waiter or waitress who sold you the beer as witnesses then proceed with the details to claim the prize from our official distributors,” Mugarura explained.

But if you win a beer, it will of course be served instantly.
