KLM begins operations in Rwanda
The Dutch airline KLM made its maiden flight to Kigali last week.
By flying directly between Kigali and Amsterdam, KLM now competes with the already established SN Brussels in direct air travel between Europe and Rwanda.
“The arrival of KLM will give travelers an extra choice and enhances competition,” said Infrastructure Minister Vincent Karega.
KLM ventured into the Rwandan market due to its rapid growing economy which has brought about increased demand for travel. It is expected that the arrival of a new player will increase opportunities for more connections as well as increased business opportunities in sectors such as tourism.
