In an effort to improve service delivery to its customers across the country, MTN Rwanda has given 6 minibuses and one pickup truck to seven of its franchise operators. The event, which took place in front of 400 people at Camp Kigali, was preceded by a football match to spice up the event. The vans which were purchased by the franchisee’s at the cost of 25 million each, and equipped and branded by MTN with the state of the art sound systems at a total of 40million. Chief Operations Officer Andrew Rugege said that MTN was committed to support and help build indigenous business partners wherever the company operates. “With these vans and the equipment installed, you can reach every corner of your area and share our brand world, values, products and services,” Rugege said. The delivery of vans also allows the franchisees from now on to operate free of the MTN schedule and can now operate at their own schedule of promotional events. Before, MTN had the sole authority and responsibility to carry out promotions, while franchisee’s had to wait for their time. “With MTN covering 85% of the country and our network handling more than 1.6 million active subscribers, it would be challenging to reach out to all these people from a central point,” Rugege explained the move. He thanked the franchise operators for having confidence in MTN and the willingness to make considerable investments in growing their business through the initiative. |
